September is PAIN AWARENESS MONTH
Charles Guernsey opened Southern Michigan Pain Consultants, PC (SMPC)
in February 2000 with a philosophy that chronic pain
should be treated as other chronic medical
conditions, utilizing the best methods of medicine
and treating their patient as a whole, in managing
their pain.
SMPC has three
locations, Portage, Marshall & St. Joseph. Upon
Dr. Guernsey's retirement partner and fellow pain
specialist Matt Kuiper DO took on the additional
role of Medical Director.
SMPC's pain management centers offer comprehensive pain
management treatment and access to physical therapy and
behavioral medicine. The SMPC Portage Portage Pain
Management Center offers
onsite physical therapy and behavioral medicine. SMPC specializes in
treating chronic pain conditions and uses a
variety of methods and treatments across several
medical disciplines to make certain every aspect of a
person's pain is examined and treated according to
each individuals need.
